Engineering Team Leader:
Description:
MaxLite a Leader in the Green Energy Lighting business located in West Caldwell, NJ is looking for a qualified Senior Design Engineer to join our team as Engineering Team Lead. This position reports up through the Director of Engineering. Our Engineering department is responsible for developing, testing new and existing lighting product to meet industry and market demands.
Job Duties:
• Over see’s the development of assigned lighting product categories.
• Includes supervision of our engineering team in our West Caldwell NJ. location consisting of both electrical and mechanical engineering functions.
• Responsible for the design and manufacturability of mechanical, electrical, optical, and electromechanical components and products by studying customer and industry requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
• Designing, modifying, fabricating, assembling, key optical and mechanical components for lighting fixtures to meet the market requirements as communicated by Product Marketing and Sales functions.
• Prepares and oversee’s the generation of mechanical prints and product assembly drawings, maintains and issues revisions.
• Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical lighting systems and products by designing and conducting research; applying principles of mechanics, electronic circuitry, power supply design, control systems, sensor design, thermodynamics heat transfer, and materials as applied to commercial, industrial, and consumer lighting.
• Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods; testing properties.
• Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
• Must interface directly with Suppliers, peers, Sr. Management, and related departments in communication of design opportunities, features, QC concerns, and other topics as required in a rapid product lifecycle environment.
• Required to maintain progress reporting in a rapid prototyping and product introduction lifecycle environment.
Requirements:
• BSME Mechanical Engineering;
• BSCE Computer Science; BSEE Electrical Engineering required; advanced degree preferred; concentrations in SMPS, optics, sensors desired
• 7-10 years’ experience in design engineering of lighting products and manufacturing required
Knowledge of requirements for lighting industry manufacturing, Lighting applications, and installation required;
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and analytical skills. Prior supervisory experience for direct reports required.
• CAD, CAM, Circuit layout, solid modeling, FEA, Mechanical Drafting proficiency desired.
• MS Office software (word, excel, power point)

• Knowledge of requirements for lighting industry required; knowledge of optics a plus

• CAD, Mechanical Drafting
• MS Office software (word, excel, power point)

Graphic Design Intern:
Job Duties:
• Develop concepts for and design company and product collateral materials, including but not limited to: literature, packaging, advertising, brochures, catalogs, trade show graphics, and merchandising
• Manage and maintain graphic files, including logos, photos, packaging and art
• Assist Marketing team with brainstorming, marketing and advertising strategies
Requirements:
• Experience in graphic design
• Working knowledge of Quark, Adobe suite - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and experience with Microsoft Office and MAC
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to handle multiple projects at once
• Ability to meet tight deadlines
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in graphic design, or equivalent experience

• Writing and editing skills.
